VIDEO: Benefits of Using a DIEP Flap with Breast Reconstruction

Also serving patients in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Newport Beach, and Northern California, as well as nationally and internationally.

When you undergo breast reconstruction after a mastectomy, you have two options for how your procedure will be performed: expander and implant reconstruction or autologous tissue reconstruction.

One technique used in autologous tissue reconstruction, the DIEP flap method, uses excess skin and fat from the abdominal wall to rebuild the breast mound. In the following video, Dr. Jay Orringer discusses the potential benefits to having your breast reconstruction performed using the DIEP flap method.

If you're considering breast reconstruction following a mastectomy to treat breast cancer, you can learn about your options by speaking with Dr. Orringer in person at his Beverly Hills office. During your consultation, he'll listen carefully to your concerns and goals in order to devise an individualized treatment plan that will address your unique needs.
